5 out of 5 stars A great indoor helicopter!   December 8, 2009

I bought this last Christmas for my teenage son. I was anticipating problems with a rotor or tail blade breaking and had ordered spares -- haven't been needed. We flew it for hours in the house, competing on time aloft and landing position -- it was great.

The controls worked fine. It does require some eye/hand coordination, but it didn't take us long to get used to it. It crashed into a bunch of walls and the Christmas tree, hit the ground, and was fine.

You can't just trim it and forget about it, but for the price it is great.

I am extremely disappointed in this hellicopter. Once you spin the time to get the trim worked out you get to do it time and time again because it seems that with every flight it is off again. The trim correction does not appear to be precise enough

Over the course of the 4th of July weekend many of us took turns trying to get this hellicopter to fly with some degree of control and none of us could get it. After really working at it and really watching it the main problem appears that forward and reverse are very very slow to respond when returning the stick to the middle position, if you do a rotate left or right the rear propeller stops faster, but that is so much to try and keep up with that it leads to constant over-correction. It won't hover even in the slightest no matter how close to correct trim you have gotten. After many failed attemps outside (with the slightest of breezes) we tried in the garage... maybe we were breathing too hard in its direction?

The one thing I will give you is this thing can take a pounding which is good since flying it is almost impossible.

5 out of 5 stars ozone #1 copter for begginer to intermediate   May 23, 2009

I have just received this awesome helicopter, i am a first time heli flyer and i just love this product. i am amazed at the power because i live above sea level so i was expecting a helicopter that used all of its power trying to lift itself into the air, but not this. this heli has two 120 size brushless stainless steel motors, top rotor stabilizer, and a "bullet proof" body, i would recommend this heli to anyone!

4 out of 5 stars great until it crashes wrong...   May 8, 2009

After getting one of the 30 dollar micro-copters from my girlfriend and enjoying flying it, I wanted something I could control a bit more, so I ratcheted up a notch on the helicopter scale and got the venom ozone. It's a lot of fun, you get great control (forwards, backwards, rotate left and right, and moving up and down), and overall it crashed pretty well. This lasted for about two weeks, but as I got better with the controls, I flew closer to obstacles, and I ultimately hit a wall in such a way that the copter crashed upside down and snapped a piece near the upper main rotor blades.
The parts aren't terribly expensive, but they come from texas, so getting a few 3 or 4 dollar parts added on almost 10 dollars in shipping. I couldn't finds parts locally so I had to go this route. I then couldn't find any instructions anywhere online for taking the copter apart and putting it back together. I have a bit of technical savvy, so I actually was able to fix it and it now flies again, but it's not the same. There's a bit of wobble in the hover now, and I just crashed again last night to find a screw I'd tightened as much as I could had come loose. I'm left feeling like I need to buy another one if I want to get back to the flying I was doing before that first bad crash.
The jury's still out for me. I think I'll keep trying to fix this copter and get if flying. Like I said, it is a blast, and you do get decent control. Overall I'd recommend.
One last downside is battery life. You get about 6 or 7 good minutes for over half an hour of charge, which isn't spectacular at all.
